About the publication

A field guide built in public.

Compete Nepal is an independent tutorial archive for people who build for the web. It began with practical notes on Ionic and Electron and grew into a wider record of front end work.

What this is

A working archive, not a news feed.

Compete Nepal collects tutorials about Ionic, React Native, WordPress, Electron, CSS, PHP and the wider web. The earliest notes in this archive were published in December 2016 under Lohani Tech. The site is now a static reading room built to keep those notes accessible and fast.

The archive is written for developers, students and designers who prefer a complete example to a vague overview. Every note should leave you with something you can open, run or adapt.

What you will find

  • Step by step Ionic tutorials, from navigation to themes and native features.
  • React Native notes on templates, native bridges and project structure.
  • WordPress guides to files, themes, plugins and the working dashboard.
  • Front end references for CSS, Flexbox, JavaScript and the browser.
  • Reviews of tools and frameworks, judged by the work they make possible.

How the archive is kept

The original site was a WordPress blog. This edition keeps the page addresses, page titles and written material, while rebuilding the interface as static HTML and CSS. Some images from the first run were not kept by the public web archive. Where that happens, the written steps remain and the sidebar carries a short note.

Who makes it

Compete Nepal was first published by Lohani Tech. The archive also points to the public work of Damodar Lohani. Contributions and corrections are welcome through the contact page.

Have a correction?

If a command no longer works, a link has drifted or a note needs a clearer explanation, send a note through the contact desk. The archive improves when readers point at the rough edges.
